OPPORTUNITY DRAWING. What is it?

To comply with new California raffle regulations, we have to change the format for funding for the kid’s trip that we do every year.
What is an opportunity drawing? Well, read on how the club will comply with the new regulations and make meetings just as fun. Plus, we are hoping this new format will drive club members to attend more meetings! Attending = an opportunity to win! Woo-hoo!
For most of the monthly meetings, we will be holding “opportunity drawings”.
        • Everyone will get an envelope with 10 tickets.
        • No one has to pay for these tickets.
        • The prizes will remain the same as before, with one big prize (reel or rod) and some smaller prizes.

Does the kid’s trip warm your heart like it does for us?
If yes, then donate at any time, all year long!

Our main fundraiser each and every year is a “kid’s fishing trip”.
        • WE rely on members & friends donating and we the club, provide the “onboard fishing coaches” to assist and guide the kids on this wonderful ocean outing!
        • It’s not just fishing, they get a great meal onboard, and it creates a lasting memory, especially for kids whose parents don’t ocean fish or don’t have the finances to do a simple day trip.
        • Members and guests are welcome to donate money, or fishing gear to fund the kid’s trip at any time all year long!
        • At all our meetings, there will be a box nearby for the donations specific to this trip. You might even want to donate a “manageable” amount every month.
        • If you’re comfortable with donating through apps or online like via Venmo or Zelle – just talk or email Rick and he will coach you though the process.
        • Or find the Zelle and/or Venmo link on our site — or again, if you’re now sure about donating online with Zelle or Venmo, find Rick at one of the meetings and he can help!
        • We hope YOU will participate in this opportunity to give and create not just a lasting memory for a kid, but a future Sport fisher adding to our sportfishing family! It’s fun. Therapeutic. And the eating of your very own catch is rewarding on top of all that!
        • Thank you!
