May 15, 2025 – trip on the Endeavor

Our May 15 trip on the Endeavor was really excellent. We started out ready to go at 10pm, but had to wait until 12am to leave because the wind was really blowing. We bounced around on the way out and it was light by the time we got to Santa Rosa Island. We started picking off large white seabass right away. By 10:30 we had our limit, with many having caught 2. Tucker wanted everyone to reel in one so we handed off to those who hadn’t gotten one yet. Every single person on board got to reel in a large WSB. With limits, we then fished shallow rock cod and got plenty.

Caroline Phillips got a huge WSB and won the jackpot! She brought her nephew, Logan, who had never been ocean fishing. His very first fish on a rental pole was a stunning WSB easily in the 25-30Lb range.

We all thought the limited load of 15 was the way to go. We tangled, but the crew made it manageable. We couldn’t make squid, so the crew jigged while we were fishing and we got just enough. Rhanny caught one on a sardine, but live squid was the ticket. There were several lings caught, and a few large sheephead. This was one happy group when we returned to the dock!
