The Hatchery has contacted me, they will come to complete the last length and weight measurements and final count on our Juvenile White Seabass on Tuesday May 7th at 10am.

We will need help again to crowd the fish into half the pens and count them into the empty half.

Please come to help if you can. After that, the goal is to release the fish as soon as May 28th or a little later.

Thank you again to all our hard-working volunteers.

Additional info from previous dates:

  • We have done this before and with the fewer fish we have this year it shouldn’t take more than 3 hours.
  • This will take several of us to accomplish.
  • We will meet at the Pens on
  • Please come and help if you can. Many hands make for lighter work!
  • Please wear old work clothes and deck boots or old shoes. Gloves would be helpful as well.

The fish are doing great and are about 9 inches long. This year we are going to try to keep them longer to release them as big as reasonably possible to promote survivability in the wild.
