James is connected to West Coast Jiggerz and Ventura-area sportfishing activity. James is part of a family deeply involved in jig fishing and the Southern California offshore scene.
The Kikkawa brothers are credited with building a community around vertical jigging and later developing their own line of high‑performance jigs.
Their work is widely recognized among anglers who fish the Channel Islands, Ventura, and San Diego long‑range boats.

- As part of our agreement with Black Bear, all attendees are expected to order at least one food item and one beverage from their reasonably priced menu, so if you’re a pie & decaf person — or love a full-on hearty, homestyle meal – then come on down, enjoy a nice hot meal and enjoy the November meeting in a nice private room with a BIG SCREEN tv for presentations!
