He then moved to Channel Islands Harbor to pursue his dream retirement\, fishing for Billfish and other species out of the Channel Islands Harbor. \nHe purchased a 1979 Viking 35 Convertible Sportfisher and began his journey. Fished the Channel Islands Billfish Tournament every year from 2004 to 2019 when sold Valkyrie because of medical reasons. \nHe joined the Channel Islands Yacht Club in 2003 and found that they had built and staffed the White Seabass Grow out Facility in the Channel Islands Harbor. He began as one of the volunteers and in about 2010 became the Growout pen Coordinator and continues today. \n \n

DESCRIPTION:On Wednesday July 9\, 2025\, we will be taking 40+ local kids from foster homes\, on an unforgettable ocean fishing adventure aboard the “Californian”. \nFor many\, this will be their very first time on the water. The funds we raise helps cover the $4000+ cost to charter the boat\, provide the kids with tackle\, lunch\, all snacks\, their fish processing and memories that will last lifetime. Your support in this raffle is what makes this trip happen! \nLast year\, we had a big group\, every child caught fish\, with over 500 fish landed in total. And let’s be honest\, many of us just want to keep fishing during the off-season. \n\n\n\nThat’s where surf fishing comes in! Kaspar and Gary are here to share their expertise\, provide valuable insights\, and help us fine-tune our gear so we can hit the surf and\, with a little luck\, reel in a keeper or even a trophy catch. So “save the date!” \n\n\n\nABOUT KASPAR & GARY —\nCalifornia Surf Fishing . . . \n started out in 2017 as twin brothers (Kaspar Kazazian and Gary Kazazian) with an obsession for catching game fish (seabass\, halibut\, sheephead\, calico bass\, rockfish) from shore. \n \nThrough countless hours fishing the beaches of Southern California\, the brothers were able to optimize their techniques. By 2023\, Kaspar and Gary had written a book about how to catch these fish from shore\, titled “California Surf Fishing: The Hunt for Big Fish”. \n \nThe brothers had been posting their surf catches on their Instagram page since 2017\, and their page eventually started gaining some popularity. By 2023\, the brothers were receiving informal guiding requests from anglers looking to improve their shore fishing experiences.  Subsequently\, the brothers obtained their guiding licenses from the CDFW and started a formal guiding service. \n \nFor the last couple of years\, California Surf Fishing has guided hundreds of anglers from shore while continuously refining their shore fishing techniques. \n \nDuring the presentation\, Kaspar will give an overview of the different techniques for catching game fish from shore\, as well as the techniques for catching more traditional surf fish such as perch and croakers. We will have ice chests with water\, but if you want beer\, wine\, or soda please bring your own. We have a lot of smoked fish\, so beer is welcome! The members caught it – barracuda\, yellowtail and tuna. \nThe setup crew will be there at 12\, and the party starts at 1. It should be a great day. That park is usually cool (at least a whole lot cooler than T.O.). Remember to bring ten bucks cash for the parking envelope. And we need donations to pay for the park rental.
